Client-Side Processing: Your Files Never Leave Your Device
This is the most important thing to know: All HEIC, HEIF, and LIVP file processing happens entirely inside your web browser. Your photos and files are never uploaded to any server. They never leave your device.
Our tool uses a technology called WebAssembly (WASM) to run the HEIC decoder directly in your browser. This means:
- No file uploads to any remote server
- No data transmission over the internet during processing
- No file storage on our servers
- You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and the tool will continue to work
Information We Collect
Information You Do NOT Provide
Since all processing is client-side, we do not collect, store, or have access to:
- Your HEIC, HEIF, or LIVP files
- The converted JPG or PNG images
- Your photos or any image content
- File metadata (EXIF data, location data, etc.)
Automatically Collected Information
Like most websites, our web server may automatically collect standard technical information when you visit, including:
- IP address and browser user-agent string (standard web server logs)
- Pages visited and time spent on the site (via privacy-focused analytics, if any)
- Referring website URLs
This information is used solely for operational purposes such as monitoring site performance and preventing abuse. It is never linked to your files or personal identity.
Cookies
We do not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. We may use essential cookies for basic site functionality (such as remembering your preferred quality settings), but these do not track you across websites.
Third-Party Services
Our website loads the following third-party libraries for core functionality:
- heic2any â A JavaScript library for decoding HEIC files in the browser. Loaded from jsDelivr CDN.
- JSZip â A JavaScript library for creating ZIP archives for batch downloads. Loaded from jsDelivr CDN.
These libraries are loaded from CDN servers and may record standard access logs (IP address, user agent). We do not share any user data with these services beyond the standard HTTP request information required to deliver the library files.
Data Security
Because your files are never transmitted to our servers, there is no risk of server-side data breaches affecting your photos. The client-side architecture provides inherent security â your data is only as exposed as your own device.
Children's Privacy
Our service is not specifically directed at children under the age of 13. Since we do not collect personal information, users of any age can use our tool safely. However, we recommend parental supervision for young children using any online tool.
